TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Report
The New York Red Bulls have reportedly made an offer for Romanian attacker Alexandru Ionita, according to a report out of Romania.
DigiSport reported earlier this week that the Red Bulls have made a 1.5 million euro offer for the 22-year-old Astra Giurgiu midfielder. The report also stated that Turkish club Konyaspor and Romanian club CS U Craiova have also made bids for Ionita.
Ionita has spent his entire career in his native Romania, debuting with Rapid Bucharest in 2011 before moving to Astra Giurgiu in 2014. Capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or on the wing, Ionita has eight goals and three assists in 17 Romanian top flight appearances this season. He earned his first cap for Romania in the country’s World Cup qualifying win against Kazakhstan in September.
Red Bulls on-loan forward Anatole Abang currently plays with Ionita at Astra Giurgiu.
