A centerpiece of CF Monterrey, the reigning Liga MX Apertura and Concacaf Champions League winners, is reportedly drawing interest from MLS clubs.
Attacking midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro could soon depart Rayados for an undisclosed MLS club, according to Mexican-based journalist Rafa Huesca. Any move could be related to the reported arrival of Ake Loba, according to Bolavip, the same striker that MLSsoccer.com’s Tom Bogert recently reported was the subject of a struck-down transfer bid from Nashville SC.
Asked further about the move, Huesca noted that a deal isn't complete, but there's a "juicy offer" to contend with.
Should Pizarro, 25, come to MLS, it’d continue an offseason wave of Liga MX players heading north of the border. He’d bring serious name recognition, too, having scored five goals in 25 appearances for Mexico's senior national team.
Pizarro has spent his entire professional career in Liga MX, with other spells at Pachuca and Chivas de Guadalajara, amassing over 250 professional appearances across the three stops. Pizarro has won either an Apertura or Clausura title with Monterrey, Pachuca and Guadalajara. He was also part of Mexico’s 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup-winning side.
