TRANSFER TRACKER: Report
Minnesota United’s quest to land transfer target Emanuel Reynoso is still plugging along, according to Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. In fact, Boca Juniors' final regular-season game this Saturday against Gimnasia could jumpstart negotiations, reports Greder.
The attacking midfielder, 24, has been linked to the Loons since January when reports initially surfaced out of his native Argentina. Several updates then emerged in February, including one from ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle that said the deal was “95 percent done.”
Since joining Boca from Club Atletico Talleres in 2018, Reynoso has recorded four goals and eight assists in 62 matches. He’s mainly come off the bench since December, though he started and played 90 minutes in Boca’s Copa Libertadores match Tuesday night against Venezuelan club Caracas FC.
Minnesota traded attacking midfielder Darwin Quintero to the Houston Dynamo this past offseason, and started Kevin Molino in an attacking midfield role during last weekend’s 3-1 season-opening win at the Portland Timbers. Another option there could be Uruguayan youngster Thomas Chacon, who’s made two appearances since joining as a Young Designated Player last August.
