TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
With the MLS primary transfer window closing soon, an Argentine report claims that the LA Galaxy are lining up a loan deal to bolster their attack.
Journalist German Garcia Grova has linked the five-time MLS champions to Favio Alvarez, a 26-year-old currently at Atletico Tucuman in Argentina's top flight, reporting that Alvarez will travel to Los Angeles on Friday hoping to clinch a year-long loan deal with an option to buy.
Capable of playing multiple positions, whether up top, out wide or in a central playmaking role, Alvarez would seemingly be intended as a replacement for the injured Romain Alessandrini, who will be sidelined until early fall with a knee injury, prompting the Galaxy's technical staff to acknowledge their desire for a reinforcement.
Alvarez began his pro career with Talleres de Cordoba and has also represented Defensa y Justicia and CA Sarmiento, which would have put him in the view of current LA head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto during his previous stints in charge of Boca Juniors and Lanus.
