TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Mario Götze has left Borussia Dortmund, but it doesn't seem like he'll be landing at Inter Miami CF with the 28-year-old out-of-contract attacker reportedly rejecting an offer from the MLS expansion side, according to German outlet Bild.
Götze, who had three goals in 15 German Bundesliga appearances this season, reportedly is looking to continue his career in Europe. He had 13 goals in 75 appearances across all competitions in his second stint at Dortmund after a move from Bayern Munich in 2018. Götze scored another 22 goals in 83 appearances for Dortmund after coming up through the club’s youth ranks.
Internationally, Götze has scored 17 goals in 63 caps for Germany, famously scoring the winning goal in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final against Argentina. He last played for Germany in a 2017 international friendly against France.
Inter Miami have been linked with numerous big names and reportedly are set to sign Juventus star and French World Cup-winning midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
