Report: Free agent Juan Agudelo training at English club Wolverhampton Wanderers

Former MLS forward Juan Agudelo appears to be enamored by the thought of playing in England.

According to a report from ESPNFC.com, Agudelo has made his way back overseas and is currently training with English second division side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Despite not having a work permit, Agudelo is free to practice with Wolverhampton and can also play in the club's Under-21 matches.

While Agudelo might just be training with the Wolves in an effort to stay fit and sharp, the club is reportedly viewing his time there as a trial. The 21-year-old forward is currently a free agent and has been without a club since his deal with Premiership outfit Stoke City was ended by mutual consent in the summer due to his inability to secure a work permit.

The former New York Red Bulls, Chivas USA and New England Revolution striker reportedly had options in recent months that he turned down. The ESPNFC report says MLS allegedly offered him a young Designated Player deal to come back to the league he left after the 2013 season, and German club Werder Bremen also made a move, but he declined both deals to pursue a move in England.

For Agudelo to play in England, he would need to secure a work permit. The Washington Post reported over the weekend that he is currently pursuing a European Union passport by acquiring property in Cyprus, which would make him eligible for one.
