TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Could David Beckham's former Three Lions teammate be on his way to Miami to play for Beckham’s MLS expansion side?
Veteran goalkeeper Joe Hart has been linked with a move to Inter Miami CF, according to a report by the Sun on Sunday.
“Joe has told some of his teammates Becks has been in touch and he’s hopeful a deal can be done,” a source told the Sun. “He wants to be a No. 1 again and he’s frustrated that things haven’t worked out in England for him over the past few years.
“Miami would be great for him and would also be a high-profile club.”
This not the first time Hart has been tabbed with an MLS move. In February it was rumored the former Manchester City goalkeeper was set to join the league. It was the Sun again that led that reporting, speculating Hart could make sense for Columbus Crew SC because of Zach Steffen’s Manchester City transfer.
The 32-year-old was once the top-choice goalkeeper for the English national team — he has 75 caps to his name — but he’s currently the second-choice keeper at Burnley after being jettisoned from Manchester City and subsequent loan spells to Torino and West Ham United.
Inter Miami have already signed an experienced goalkeeper this offseason, having brought in former New York Red Bulls captain Luis Robles as a free agent earlier this month.
