Official: FC Dallas promote assistant Marco Ferruzzi front-office role

UPDATE, Jan. 9:FC Dallas have promoted longtime assistant coach Marco Ferruzzi to director of soccer operations, the club announced Wednesday. 


“Marco has been an invaluable part of the FC Dallas family for the last 15 years, and we are excited to promote him to an expanded leadership role,” FC Dallas chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said in a media release. “Marco has extensive experience in MLS – both as a coach and on the technical side – and he has played a key role in our scouting operation for many years. He will be an important member of our leadership team as we move into this next chapter, and I know he will do an outstanding job.”




From Muzzi to Ferruzzi?


According to The Athletic's Paul Tenorio, FC Dallas will promote longtime assistant coach Marco Ferruzzi to a front-office role. Luiz Muzzi had been running the front office operations but recently moved to Orlando City SC

Ferruzzi, 47, featured in MLS for the Tampa Bay Mutiny briefly. He has served as a reserve team, pre-academy and premier team coach over his last 14 seasons with the club. He oversaw scouting of college and youth players for FCD on top of his coaching responsibilities. 


This offseason, FC Dallas have signed striker Zdenek Ondrasek and defender Bressan, while trading Maxi Urruti and Victor Ulloa after former boss Oscar Pareja moved on from the club.
