Could Mario Balotelli be on the verge of a long-anticipated move to Major League Soccer?
Citing a club source, Grant Wahl reported that D.C. United has been in contact with super agent Mino Raiola about Balotelli, who is out of contract at Nice after scoring 21 goals in all competitions so far this season for the Ligue 1 side.
The enigmatic 27-year-old Italian forward, who has played for Manchester City, Liverpool, Milan and Inter would possibly be part of D.C. United’s reported plans to add two more Designated Players over the summer.
But there will certainly be competition for Balotelli’s signature with Raiola previously confirming talks with clubs in Italy and England. He named Juventus, Roma, Napoli and Inter as potential landing spots earlier this year.
