José Luis "El Chelís" Sánchez Solá has been dismissed as manager of Chivas USA, according to multiple reports from around the soccer world.
The colorful veteran Liga MX boss has been rumored to be on the hot seat for the past month after a promising start devolved into a string of one-sideded losses. Chelís also told ESPN's Jorge Ramos that he had not spoken to anyone in the Chivas de Guadalajara command structure for five weeks, and that he hasn't spoken with owner Jorge Vergara "at all."
Additionally, ESPN's John Sutcliffe reported that current Chivas de Guadalajara technical director José Luis Real will step in as interim manager of the LA-based club.
Currently, Chivas USA are dead last in the Western Conference with 11 points from 12 games.
As of press time, the club had not replied to a request for comment on the story.
