TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Atlanta United
have a target for their Designated Player replacement for the departed Pity Martinez, according to a report from Argentine reporter Cesar Luis Merlo.
"Marcelino Moreno is the one chosen to be Pity Martinez's replacement at Atlanta United. There are already negotiations ongoing with Lanus," Merlo relayed on his Twitter account.
Moreno currently plays for Lanus in Argentina, where he's been since 2016, featuring in 106 matches for the club across all competitions, scoring six goals and dishing out 13 assists. He put up 3g/6a in league play last season.
Atlanta are on the hunt for a new DP following the transfer of Martinez to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, so Moreno's playmaking skillset would seem to fit the bill as a player to step in and fill the void. The Five Stripes are also currently in between managers after parting ways with Frank de Boer following the MLS is Back Tournament.
