TUESDAY, NOON ET: Atlanta United are considering the acquisition of Guinea international defender Florentin Pogba, according to a report from leading French sports publication L’Equipe.
Pogba, 28, is a rangy center back with nearly a decade of experience in France’s Ligue 1 and nearly two dozen international caps. The older brother of France and Manchester United megastar Paul Pogba, Florentin has been a free agent since departing Turkish side Genclerbirligi, after less than a year and recently came close to signing with Spain’s Elche.
Should ATL’s interest in Pogba prove serious, some would link it to rumors and reports out of Argentina that Boca Juniors are seeking a transfer of Five Stripes center back Leandro Gonzalez Pirez.
