the champions," Osorio said. "I'm pretty pleased with everybody's performance today and hopefully, we can build on these past three games and continue on adding points in trying to achieve our main goal, which is to make the playoffs."

• Two of the four players Osorio brought in with his midseason restructuring -- Venezuelan internationals Jorge Rojas (visa issues) and Gabriel Cichero (suspension) -- were unavailable, as were starting defender Jeff Parke and key reserve Carlos Mendes because of injury.

• "I think that's the most pleasing thing today. As you just mentioned, (we had) three very important players missing and the guys who got the chance today took it with both hands and made the best out of it and contributed greatly to a great win," Osorio said. "That's what this whole game is about -- it's competition, it's waiting for your chance and putting in the contribution when it's required and that's what the guys did today."

• After the shutout win against Toronto FC, Osorio had to install a new central defense pairing, and had three new faces in a back four (after playing with three in the back for three consecutive weeks).

• "I think in the back, Diego came in and stepped up and did fantastic for us so that was one part in the defense," Goldthwaite said. "In the back four, we had a makeshift lineup and the guys who came in played well. I think it was a fantastic result considering the players who were unavailable."

• One constant was keeping the central midfield pairing of Juan Pietravallo - another of the midseason additions - together with Seth Stammler.

• "I think defensively, we look like a team now. We probably overlooked the job that Juan Pietravallo has done in the last three games as an anchorman in front of the back four but his contribution in my opinion is huge," Osorio said. "Now, we look like a very well-balanced team, we can attack, we have some threat on the flanks, Juan (Pablo Angel) is always a threat but we (are doing a better job) defensively."

• Magee scored his third goal in as many weeks, a career-best. Magee said he figures he hadn't scored in three consecutive games since he was 17.

• "It's a lot easier," he said. "I feel like it's becoming more easy for me to take chances and try and make passes to my teammates and not have to worry about mistakes."
