SANDY, Utah - RSL Back to Work at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday against Wizards

Fresh off a stretch of five games played in 15 days, Real Salt Lake (3-4-1, 10 pts.) will have the chance to relax and enjoy the comforts of home at Rio Tinto Stadium this Saturday, May 16, when Utah's MLS side will welcome the Kansas City Wizards (3-4-2, 11 pts.) to Sandy. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. MT for a contest that will be televised live on KUTV 2.2 Digital / Comcast 111, beginning with the America First Credit Union Pre-Game Report at 6:30 p.m. Fans can also follow the action live via RSL's official radio partners: KALL 700 Sports (America First Credit Union Pre-Game Report begins at 6:00 p.m.) and KE BUENA 1600-AM.


Real Salt Lake will welcome Kansas City to its new Rio Tinto Stadium home for the first time on Saturday, this after going 2-1-1 in four home contests at Rice-Eccles Stadium from 2005-08. Real Salt Lake is 2-4-2 all-time against the Wizards in regular season play, but has gone undefeated in the last three contests between the squads in the Beehive State, including last year's scoreless draw on June 7 in which RSL outshot the Wizards 19-7 but still had to settle for a share of the spoils. Real Salt Lake will be looking to stay undefeated in regular season play in Sandy, the Utah side collecting a 4-0-2 mark in MLS play since its opener last October, a six-game stretch that represents the second-longest home undefeated streak in club history.

May 23rd U.S. v. Japan Women's Soccer Friendly at Rio Tinto Stadium Cancelled The first two domestic matches of 2009 for the U.S. Women's National Team - including its May 23 date at Rio Tinto Stadium - have been cancelled after Japan decided not to travel to the United States or Canada, citing concerns with the H1N1 virus.


Fans that already purchased tickets to either game will be refunded in full from the original point of purchase. For the May 23 game in Sandy, fans may either receive a full refund or apply the value of their purchase toward tickets to the 2009 MLS All-Star Game on July 29 or any future Real Salt Lake home game at Rio Tinto Stadium. Those fans who elect not to exchange for upcoming games will have their refund applied in full to the credit card used in the original purchase of tickets. If tickets were purchased with cash, the buyer must present the tickets at the stadium box office for either an exchange or refund. The Rio Tinto Stadium box office is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the east (State Street) side of the building. Online Balloting for 2009 MLS All-Star Game now Live

Starting today, Major League Soccer fans can go online to the League's official web site, www.MLSnet.com, to select the 11 players they would like to see take on English Premier League club Everton FC in the 2009 MLS All-Star Game at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. The 14th annual MLS midsummer showcase will bring together Major League Soccer's best for a marquee matchup on Wednesday, July 29, versus famed English Premier League club Everton FC at the home of Real Salt Lake. The game will be televised in the U.S. on ESPN2 and Telefutura at 7:30 p.m. ET. A dozen players for each of Major League Soccer's 15 clubs are on the ballot this year, with Real Salt Lake's contingent headed by Argentine playmaker Javier Morales, MLS co-leading scorer Robbie Findley, captain Kyle Beckerman, and Colombian defender Jamison Olave.


Fans can vote for the All-Star First XI online by selecting one goalkeeper, three defenders, five midfielders, and two forwards. Fans can vote up to 10 times per day. The online fan balloting program, which concludes on Monday, July 6, will comprise 25 percent of the total vote for the All-Star First XI, with coaches and general managers, players, and media each holding 25 percent of the vote.

Sign up Now for RSL 3-v-3 Tournament & Summer Youth Soccer Camps

Real Salt Lake continues to collect registrants for both the RSL 3-v-3 Soccer Tournament and this summer's RSL Youth Camps series.


The RSL 3-v-3 Tournament will be held across the weekend of June 26-27 at Mt. Jordan Middle School (9360 S. 300 East in Sandy). Boys and girls teams (U-8, U-9 through U-18 recreational & competitive) and male and female Open and Over-30 squads entering the tournament are guaranteed to play at least four matches over the weekend, with the finals in each group set to take place on Rio Tinto Stadium's east lawn as part of the Carnival Real festival prior to RSL's match against Toronto FC. Real Salt Lake is offering a special deal to teams that sign up for the tournament at the Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers RSL Coach's Corner every Tuesday leading up to the tournament, with each team registering in person receiving $10 off the registration fee (check in with www.RSLtotheCore.com throughout the week to see where each week's RSL Coach's Corner will be located).
