RadioShack's "Magic Minute" national online sweepstakes winner selected

Mary Kinneman, age 55 of Lansdale, Pa., is one step closer to winning $1 million in the "Magic Minute" national online sweepstakes sponsored by RadioShack Corporation (NYSE: RSH) and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Throughout the 2005 MLS season, thousands of fans logged on to the League's official Web site, www.MLSnet.com. Fans were asked to select a player from the rosters of MLS teams competing in that week's MLS/RadioShack Soccer Saturday ESPN2 broadcast, to score a goal during the designated "Magic Minute" during the game. Cash prizes, RadioShack gift cards and MLS gear were on the line each week.

At the end of the regular season, Kinneman was randomly selected as the Grand Prize winner from all eligible entries received throughout the MLS season. Kinneman, a self-described soccer nut, will fly along with three family members to the League's 10th Championship Game, MLS Cup 2005, to be played in Frisco, Texas, at the Pizza Hut Park on Sunday, Nov. 13, and broadcast live on ABC Sports.

Kinneman will have an opportunity to select one player from one of the MLS Cup 2005 teams that will score during a pre-selected minute during the match. If the selected player scores during the chosen minute, she will win $1 million.

"I have been a soccer mom throughout my children's lives. To have the opportunity to bring two of them with my husband and me to see, in person, one of the most important American soccer events is awesome. All of us are excited about this opportunity and winning the Magic Minute grand prize. Of course, winning a million dollars would be icing on the cake."

"The RadioShack Magic Minute promotion has been extremely popular throughout the MLS season, and it's exciting that it's come down to this - one minute and one chance for one of our customers to cash in on a $1 million prize," said Don Carroll, senior vice president and chief marketing and brand officer for RadioShack. "Even if Mary doesn't win the prize, she and her guests will still experience the once-in-a-lifetime thrill of attending the 10th MLS Cup game, something any soccer fan would love."

"This is the second year that the RadioShack Magic Minute promotion has added excitement to MLS television broadcasts," said Dan Courtemanche, senior vice president, marketing and communications for Major League Soccer. "Speaking on behalf of the League, we want to wish Mary the best of luck."
