2019 MLS Regular Season – Week 30
Portland Timbers vs. New England Revolution
Providence Park – Portland
September 25 – 10:30 PM ET
STREAMING: MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, on DAZN in Canada
The Portland Timbers will try to snap a three-match goalless drought when they host the New England Revolution in a critical midweek match for both teams Wednesday at Providence Park.
The Timbers (13-13-5) are level on points with the San Jose Earthquakes, but are below the playoff line on a tiebreaker after a 0-0 draw against Minnesota United at Providence Park Sunday. Sebastian Blanco and Cristhian Paredes both hit the woodwork as the Timbers sent 12 of 30 shots on frame, but to no avail.
The Revs (10-10-11) are three points above the playoff line in the East following a frustrating 0-0 home draw against Real Salt Lake Saturday night. Like the Timbers, Bruce Arena's side played on the front foot and prodded for the breakthrough goal, especially in a dominant second half. Brandon Bye had the best chance, latching onto a Carles Gil free kick, but headed off the crossbar five minutes from full time.
