Toronto FC, D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls all clinched spots in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs on Saturday, largely thanks to three results involving the chasing pack of Eastern Conference teams, with Chicago, Orlando and Montreal all dropping points in road games.
Minnesota United failed to clinch their first MLS playoff berth, as they drew Portland. The Seattle Sounders can officially keep their perfect streak of MLS playoff appearances intact with a win at D.C. (8 pm ET | MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in the US, MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada).
On the other side of the coin, the Columbus Crewdropped points at the death in Vancouver, but they were not officially eliminated after New England failed to beat Real Salt Lake. That result in New England also granted a reprieve to Orlando, despite their loss to Houston.
The Colorado Rapids also staved off elimination, coming back from two goals down to win in a game at Sporting KC where a loss or draw would have officially eliminated them. However, the Rapids, along with Houston and Sporting, will be eliminated should both Portland and Dallas pick up wins on Sunday.
