Two days before they defended their home territory against the LA Galaxy in the Bronx (a 1-0 win that kept them atop the standings, BTW), NYCFC got a heavy dose of downtown cool. On Thursday night in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, an invitation-only crowd of street art and street wear aficionados gathered for the club’s first capsule collection collabo to date, with ONLY NY.

ONLY NY x NYCFC presents a carefully curated handful of items designed by ONLY NY, an LES staple that draws on a minimalist, but fully New York-inspired aesthetic. Think clean lines, with the almost-preppy vibe that pervaded late-1990s and early-2000s hip-hop fashion – but in skate-friendly cuts.
The NYCFC collection completely took over the ONLY NY boutique on Thursday night, and will still enjoy a full takeover on Friday. If you’re in the New York City area, you can go see it at their brick-and-mortar shop at 176 Stanton St. Everyone else can scoop it up starting now on MLSstore.com.
So what did the party reveal? Let’s take a look….
There were two crowd-favorite standouts from the beginning. First, there are these five-panel hats, bedecked with the club’s subway token-style badge (that badge is originally designed by Rafael Esquer at Alfalfa Studio, by the way).

Then, there are these rugby shirts, drawing on different tones of blue. (Note: These are only available on the ONLY NY site and they're selling super-fast!)

It might be hard to think about warmth in the current summer heat wave, but fall is fast approaching, and this is a solid addition to a classic hoodie collection.

In the meantime, there are these crisp white tees.

Tote bags work in any weather.

All in all, the tote, hats, and hoodies are pretty gender-neutral; the T-shirts and rugby shirts will suit people who like a larger/looser fit. All of it points to great possibilities in the near future for similar MLS club and streetwear-company joint projects.
You can scoop it all up before it sells out by checking out MLSstore.com right now.
