TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Transfer
The Philadelphia Union announced the team has transferred winger Eric Ayuk to Osmanlispor FK in the second tier of Turkish soccer.
Ayuk, 21, made 28 league appearances for the Union as an 18-year-old in 2015 but hasn't played in MLS for more than two seasons, spending most of 2016 on loan with USL affiliate Bethlehem Steel FC and the entire 2017 campaign on loan in Sweden for Jönköpings Södra. Ayuk has appeared for Cameroon at various youth levels.
“We’d like to thank Eric for his hard work here in Philadelphia and wish him well at his new club,” said Chris Albright, Union technical director. “We believe this is the best move for both Eric’s future and for the Union at this time.”
The move frees up an international roster slot for the Union, who are in action on Wednesday night against D.C. United (8 pm ET | TV & streaming info).
