Union forward Kacper Przybylko said on Wednesday that he was the player who contracted COVID-19 last month.
“I would like to thank everybody for respecting my privacy at this time. I just needed some time for myself before I wanted to share with everybody." he said. "Especially my teammates, my close friends, my family, thanks for that—and also, thanks for all the support I got from my fiancé, from my family, from my Union family, my teammates, the medical staff, everyone else,” he said.

The Philadelphia Union announced on Wednesday that an unidentified player on the club roster has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The player is feeling well and is in good spirits after reporting mild symptoms, according to the club.
Per the team, no players or technical staff have been present at the club facility or stadium since March 12, and according to medical guidance provided by MLS health experts, infectious disease specialists and Crozer-Keystone Health System medical officials, the case does not pose any direct risk to fans, club players or staff, or the club's most recent opponent, LAFC.
No other club players or staff need to be tested due to this confirmed case as it falls beyond the 14-day window where anyone with team-related interactions with the player would've reported symptoms.
