Fafa Picault converted a second-half penalty kick on his 28th birthday, and the Philadelphia Union dug out of an early hole to complete their preseason with a 2-1 victory over the Ottawa Fury on Saturday afternoon.
Kacper Pryzbylko and Olivier Mbaizo linked up to equalize for the Union late in the first half, after Christiano Francois' effort from distance gave their USL Championship opponents the early lead.
Philadelphia coach Jim Curtin played closer to what looked like a perspective opening weekend starting lineup during the second half of the Union's final tuneup, with midfielders Marco Fabian and Alejandro Bedoya as well as goalkeeper Andre Blake among the players who came on at the break.
