Orlando native Eddie Huang is pumped that an MLS All-Star Game is taking place in his hometown – enough to lend his voice to the latest spot previewing the July 31 event between MLS's best and Atletico Madrid (watch it above).
Turns out Huang, the popular chef, restaurateur and producer who's also well-known for his "Fresh Off The Boat" autobiography that was later turned into a television series, has a history with the game including an affinity for one of MLS's most colorful personalities.
"I grew up in Orlando as a minority during a time where there wasn't a lot of multiculturalism in the city, and one of the things I turned to that made sense to me along with music, fashion, and cooking, was sports. I remember seeing Jorge Campos, the legendary Mexican goalkeeper, as a kid and he brought a lot of that together." Huang said. "I'm proud to represent Orlando in the campaign for Major League Soccer's All-Star Game — an event that really brings different cultures together and creates a true sense of belonging."
