Construction is ongoing at Orlando City SC’s new downtown stadium but at least one important part of it is ready.
On Saturday, club president Phil Rawlins tweeted a photo of new seats that have been installed in honor of the Pulse Nightclub shooting victims.
This isn’t the first time Orlando City has recognized the horrific national tragedy that occurred in their city. In the wake of the shooting, the club organized a poignant tribute throughout their game against San Jose on June 18th, which included a stoppage of play for a moment of silence in the 49th minute to recognize the 49 people who were killed in the massacre (see video above).
Orlando’s stadium is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2017 campaign after the club drew huge crowds at Camping World Stadium in their first two seasons in MLS.
