Orlando City 6, New England Revolution 1 | 2017 MLS Match Recap

You may not want to write off Kaká just yet.

In his first start in four matches, Kaká bagged a brace to help Orlando City post a 6-1 victory over a 10-man New England Revolution side on Wednesday night. The Brazilian playmaker scored on each side of halftime of the match at Orlando City Stadium, first firing a shot into the top right corner in the 43rd minute and then smashing home a loose ball in the 77th minute.

All of Orlando's goals in the lopsided affair came after New England lost midfielder Xavier Kouassi to a straight red card in the 11th minute. Kouassi was ejected after the use of Video Review for a challenge on Seb Hines.

Three Things

1. SOMETHING LEFT IN THE TANK: There had been talk about Kaká being past it, but he showed on Wednesday that his legs still have something to offer. Yes, New England were playing with 10 men (more on that in a moment) for much of the Eastern Conference bout, but the 35-year-old star looked lively and energetic in his first start since Sept. 2. His first goal was vintage Kaká, too, as he dribbled forward before unleashing what looked like an effortless shot into the top right cornet.
2. NOT AGAIN: It was yet another early red card that doomed the Revolution's chances on Wednesday, and it was once again Kouassi who was the player ejected. As was the case in the 7-0 defeat to Atlanta United on Sept. 13, Kouassi was sent off in the early going after the use of Video Review. This infraction, however, seemed a bit more questionable than the previous one.
3. DELIVERY MAN: Kaká will get much of the shine after this one, but Yotun also deserves his share of praise. Yotun not only delivered assists on the Lions' first two goals with some well-placed set pieces, but he also opened his Orlando City account with an accurate take that picked out the bottom right corner. The Peruvian interational has looked good since arriving to the club in early August, but this might have been his best performance to date.
