TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Transfer
The New York Red Bulls have re-acquired midfielder Marc Rzatkowski on a free transfer for the 2019 season, the club announced Thursday. The club used Targeted Allocation Money to add him to the roster.
He was with the club on loan in 2018 and the Red Bulls declined his end-of-season option in November.
“Marc showed his value and quality throughout last year, and we’re happy to have him back on a permanent basis,” said Red Bulls head coach Chris Armas in a media release. “Marc adds experience, intelligence, and a competitive edge that is needed in our squad. He also has integrated so well with everyone and fits in perfectly with our culture and the way we work."
Rzatkowski, 28, made 24 appearances (16 starts) in his first MLS season in 2018, contributing 2 goals and 7 assists from the midfield. The Red Bulls announced earlier this week that Rza was with the club for preseason training.
