New York City FC look to bounce back from a loss at Real Salt Lake and seek a first home win over a Houston Dynamo side coming off consecutive 1-0 losses.
NYCFC (9-4-8) took an early lead, but conceded three unanswered goals and suffered a 3-1 loss to Real Salt Lake Saturday night at Rio Tinto Stadium. Alex Ring opened the scoring four minutes after kickoff, but RSL leveled through Jefferson Savarino in the 37th minute before taking the lead on an Albert Rusnak stunner in the 75th minute. Nick Besler capped the scoring two minutes from full time.
After 10 matches unbeaten at BBVA Stadium, the Dynamo (9-11-3) suffered a third straight home loss, falling to the Chicago Fire, 1-0, Saturday night. Nemanja Nikolic scored the game's lone goal in first-half stoppage time as the Dynamo remain three points below the playoff line in the West.
