New England Revolution midfielder Zachary Herivaux has replaced injured Orlando City midfielder Harrison Heath on the roster for the upcoming Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game, the Revolution announced on Thursday.
Heath was named to Landon Donovan’s initial roster for the Homegrown match, but will miss the game due to a sprained MCL suffered in Orlando’s 2-0 loss at the New York Red Bulls on July 13. He'll be out four to six weeks due to the injury.
Part of the buildup to the MLS AT&T All-Star Game, the Homegrown Game will see the MLS team take on the Mexico Under-20 national team on Wednesday, July 27 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.
Signed as a Homegrown player on May 2, 2015, Herivaux has made one league appearance for New England this year, playing four minutes off the bench in the Revolution’s 3-0 loss at Philadelphia on March 20. The central midfielder has played in both of New England’s US Open Cup contests, going all 120 minutes in their fourth round win at the Carolina Railhawks on June 15 and coming off the bench to play 58 minutes in the Revs’ Round of 16 victory over the New York Cosmos on June 29.
Herivaux and the Revolution return to action tonight, when they’ll host the Philadelphia Union in the Open Cup quarterfinals at Harvard University's Jordan Field (7:30 pm ET; YouTube). The Revolution also announced on Wednesday that Herivaux will join the Haitian national team following Wednesday's match for their friendly against the Argentine Olympic team on Sunday in Ft. Lauderdale.
