New England Revolution vs. Real Salt Lake
Gillette Stadium – Foxborough
September 21 – 7:30 PM ET
STREAMING: MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, on DAZN in Canada
The New England Revolution and Real Salt Lake are both above the playoff line, but their spot is far from secure and both are desperate for points when they square off Saturday night at Gillette Stadium.
The Revs (10-10-10) are straddling the playoff line in the East, three points above eighth-place Montreal following a 3-3 draw with Orlando City SC at Exploria Stadium. With the score tied at 1-1, Cristian Penilla and Gustavo Bou struck six minutes apart to put New England in front, 3-1, at the break. But Dom Dwyer and Nani netted second-half goals to earn a share of the points.
Real Salt Lake (14-12-4) are fourth in the West, but just three points above the line themselves after a 3-1 loss to Minnesota United Sunday at Allianz Field. It was a bright spot for the visitors courtesy of an Albert Rusnak 17th-minute goal, but the Loons responded with three unanswered, a brace from Darwin Quintero followed by an Ethan Finlay insurance tally seven minutes from full time.
