Teal Bunbury drove in Cristian Penilla's cross in the 78th minute to lift the New England Revolution to a 2-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening.
Diego Fagundez also scored for the Revs, who snapped the Red Bulls' unbeaten run at five matches and overcame an early deficit for their first win against New York in four games.
New York's Bradley Wright-Phillips hit his ninth goal of the season, finding the net in a fourth consecutive game against New England.
Yet the Englishman fell two goals behind Atlanta's Josef Martinez in the Golden Boot race after the Venezuelan scored a hat trick in a 3-1 win over Philadelphia, also on Saturday evening.

- THE BIG PICTURE: The Red Bulls' first loss since April 21 is perhaps less surprising given who coach Jesse Marsch was without. Tyler Adams and Tim Parker were both in Europe with the US national team, and Michael Murillo has joined Panama for their World Cup campaign.
- MOMENT OF THE MATCH: The Revs perhaps shaded the opening half but required something decisive just to end the opening 45 minutes on level terms. It came in stoppage time, when Krisztian Nemeth teed up Fagundez for what might be the hardest ball he has struck in the Uruguayan's eight-year MLS career.
- MAN OF THE MATCH: Bunbury also played a role in setting up Fagundez's thunderbolt and then was in position to redirect Penilla's ferocious cross in the latest chapter of a potential career year. Bunbury's eight goals are the most since he scored nine in his second season in MLS, with Sporting Kansas City in 2011.
