Summer has arrived, which means it's time for family cookouts, music festivals, roller coasters, a fresh round of "Stranger Things" and soccer players caught in transfer speculation crosshairs.
That, of course, means there's a wealth of players who have club situations up in the muggy July air, and were developed in Major League Soccer before heading abroad. In turn, of course, we're here to update you on all their potential comings and goings.
Both Emerson Hyndman and Timothy Weah would have been easy picks for such a summer market list had they not completed big moves earlier this week. It would be uncivilized to skip over setting their new scenes just because the dotted-line ink is already dry, so we'll start with them and then tackle the players with futures still to be told, in alphabetical order.
Emerson Hyndman

After making just two Premier League appearances in two seasons on the Bournemouth books (twice interrupted by loans that netted him 36 games for Rangers and Hibernian), Hyndman is on the move again. The US international joins Atlanta United on loan for the remainder of the year, and Five Stripes exec Carlos Bocanegra holds a buy option. The 23-year-old could provide the defending MLS Cup champions with an attack push up the gut that has often been lacking in 2019.
Timothy Weah

The US speedster joined Lille Sunday for a reputed fee of €10 million, which comes out to about $11.3 million. Unable to break through at Paris Saint-Germain (no great sin, of course), Weah now joins a club gearing up for its first Champions League group stage since 2013. A gander at the current roster seems to indicate the 19-year-old is headed for a left wing starting role duel against young Brazilian Luiz Araújo (four goals in 29 games across all competitions last term).
Kianz Froese
The Canada attacking midfielder has seen an otherwise strong trial with 3. Liga side FC Magdeburg end without a contract offer. As FCM excc Maik Franz explained to Volksstimme, "He is very similar to the players we already have." Where does that leave Froese with his Fortuna Düsseldorf pact now expired? It's possible he could come home to look for work in the Canadian Premier League.
Rogelio Funes Mori
The Monterrey goal monster is still being sought by Brazilian giants Palmeiras, but now old club River Plate have reportedly jumped into the fight. For their part, Los Rayados are carrying on as Funes Mori won't be going anywhere. In fact, they're trying like the dickens to find him a new strike partner, with overtures for Luuk de Jong and Dario Benedetto already reportedly being snubbed.
Chris Gloster

A few days ago, widespread Dutch reports asserted PSV Eindhoven had tabled a bonus clause-laden offer for the US U-20 left back, who is entering the final year of his Hannover 96 contract. The German media quickly replied with claims Hannover 96 sporting director Jan Schlaudraff had knocked back the low-ball bid, declaring the asking price was set at €1 million (roughly $1.3 million) with half expected up front. We'll soon see how the Farmers wish to play this.
Cyle Larin
Cyle Larin has just five goals in 18 months at Besiktas | Reuters
A couple weeks ago, the Besiktas striker seemed to be headed out on loan to Belgian side Zulte-Waregem. According to Turkish reports, Larin was initially resistant to the move, insisting to new boss Abdullah Avcı he was ready to come correct for the Istanbul giants. The Canada international has struggled to accrue a measly 464 minutes of action and five goals in league play since joining the Black Eagles 18 months ago.
Matt Miazga

Yes, the US defender could get the chance to fight for a place whenever Chelsea hires a new manager, but the Blues certainly have a deep center back stable to fight through. Miazga had far more good days than bad for loan employers Reading last season, and they'd happily take him back for another go-around. On the other hand, Chelsea could decide it's time to find him an Premier League loan spell.
Matthew Olosunde

After running out of contract at Manchester United, the 21-year-old right back looks set to stay in England. Word going around South Yorkshire is that Olosunde is close to joining Rotherham United, who are fresh off being relegated to League One.
Erik Palmer-Brown

Hey, remember when Juventus were chasing Palmer-Brown back in his Sporting KC days? Apparently, what's old is new again because the Bianconeri are being linked with another pursuit of the young Manchester City defender. That might seem far-fetched and it's always good to take transfer rumors emanating from Italy with a healthy grain of salt, but there's no doubt that The Old Lady could use some freshening up in the heart of defense. Andrea Barzagli has retired, while Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci aren't getting any younger. Wherever Palmer-Brown's immediate future lies, he'll want a situation that allows him to continue to development momentum he started last season with then-Eredivisie side NAC Breda.
Sebastian Soto

This week, Hannover 96 boss Mirko Slomka told the local paper he was very eager to get the US U-20 forward signed to a new deal before the current one runs out next summer. His declaration came with a catch, though. The Reds manager revealed Soto recently pondered a move (reports have linked him with PSV), adding he had "little desire" to keep the youngster with the first team without a contract extension. Could he end up joining Gloster on the road to Eindhoven? Or could rumored admirers Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim make a bid? Stay tuned.
