The New York Red Bulls need a win on Decision Day presented by AT&T against the Montreal Impact to have a chance at hosting a first-round Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs match when the Eastern Conference rivals meet at Stade Saputo.
The Impact (11-17-5) rallied for a 1-1 draw against Atlanta United Sunday at Stade Saputo, but were eliminated from playoff contention after the New England Revolution defeated NYCFC. Bojan Krkic equalized in the 81st minute, canceling out Julian Gressel's opening goal in the 53rd minute.
The Red Bulls (14-13-6) squandered a chance to move into fourth place, settling for a frustrating 0-0 draw against Atlantic Cup rival D.C. United Sunday at Red Bull Arena. It was New York's third consecutive clean sheet.
In the first meeting this season May 8, Aaron Long put the Red Bulls in front in the 36th minute, but Zakaria Diallo and Maxi Urruti scored second-half goals to secure a 2-1 road win for Montreal.
