Montreal Impact signee Laurent Ciman volleys in match-winner in Standard Liege swansong

Laurent Ciman, Belgium

Belgian international Laurent Ciman, who signed with the Montreal Impact this week, said au revoir to Standard Liege in style on Sunday.

Playing at home against top-flight rivals Anderlecht -- whose starting XI included former D.C. United Homegrown player Andy Najar -- Ciman struck a 64th-minute volley that proved to be the eventual winner. The final score finished 2-0, Standard's fourth win in their last five matches.

Ciman, 29, has been with Standard for the past six years, appearing in 151 regular-season games and nearly two dozen European matches for the 10-time Belgian champions. He also played for Charleroi, Club Brugge, and KV Kortrijk.

According to the Impact, Ciman will travel to Montreal to join his new teammates on Monday. He will be presented to the media before training on Tuesday at the Olympic Stadium.
