Atlanta Authors Incredible Comeback in 4-3 Win
After taking a 1-1 scoreline into the half, Atlanta United quickly fell behind 3-1 to Hannes Wolf and New York City FC. However, momentum shifted with a Keaton Parks own goal in the 62nd minute (Watch Here), as the Five Stripes roared back in the second half behind goals from key offseason acquisitions Miguel Almirón (75’, Watch Here) and Emmanuel Latte Lath (84’, Watch Here) to steal victory from the jaws of defeat, 4-3, in front of their home faithful.
The comeback win marked only the second time in club history that Atlanta United overcame a multi-goal, second-half deficit to win a match. The previous occurrence came on September 19, 2018, as Atlanta defeated San Jose, 4-3, in a match that also featured a goal and an assist from Almirón.
Almirón’s goal on Saturday – the first since his return to the club – was the 22nd of his Atlanta United career, tying Giorgos Giakoumakis (22) for the third-most goals in club history. Almirón and Atlanta will look to build off of this momentum as they welcome Luciano Acosta and FC Dallas to Mercedes-Benz Stadium next Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV).

Crew Continue to Cruise
One of two remaining unbeaten clubs entering Matchday 6, the Columbus Crew overcame an early deficit behind a pair of goals from striker Diego Rossi and stole a 2-1 road win against D.C. United’s at Audi Field (Watch Here).
Columbus (12 points, 3-0-3) and Inter Miami CF (13 points, 4-0-1) remain the final undefeated MLS clubs in 2025 and currently sit in third and first place, respectively, in the Eastern Conference standings. Columbus’ six-game streak is tied for the second-longest, season-opening unbeaten streak in club history, matching the mark of the 2020 team and trailing only the 2010 squad that opened their season on an eight-game undefeated run.

The 2020 Golden Boot presented by Audi winner, Rossi’s brace was his second of the 2025 season and the ninth of his MLS career. His nine career multi-goal games are tied for the fifth-most among active players, trailing only San Jose’s Josef Martínez (24), Nashville’s Hany Mukhtar (14), Seattle’s Jordan Morris (10), and LAFC’s Denis Bouanga (10).
The Crew will look to keep their unbeaten run alive next week as they take on CF Montréal at Lower.com Field (7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV).

Lucho Reaches 75-75 Milestone
One of the league’s biggest offseason acquisitions, midfielder Luciano ‘Lucho’ Acosta has put his fingerprints on the FC Dallas offense and has the club off to a strong start to the 2025 campaign. On Saturday, Acosta scored in the club’s 2-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City (Watch Here), helping Dallas improve to 3-2-1 on the season with their second consecutive victory.
Acosta’s goal was the 75th of his storied MLS career and gained him entry into an exclusive club of league legends. The 2023 Landon Donvan MLS MVP, Acosta (75 goals, 97 assists) became the seventh player in league history to record at least 75 career goals and 75 career assists, joining fellow MLS MVPs Landon Donovan (145 goals, 136 assists), Jaime Moreno (133 goals, 102 assists), Dwayne De Rosario (104 goals, 77 assists), Diego Valeri (86 goals, 91 assists), Preki (79 goals, 112 assists), and Steve Ralston (76 goals, 135 assists).
The Argentine midfielder sits only three assists shy of becoming the eighth player in MLS history to eclipse 100 career assists and will look to take one step closer to additional history as they travel to Atlanta on Saturday night (7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV) in a showdown of teams trending in the right direction.

Tani Taking Off for Loons
Returning to MLS play following an impactful start for Canada in the Concacaf Nations League third-place match, Minnesota United FC’s Tani Oluwaseyi continued his remarkable run of form, scoring both goals in the club’s 2-0 victory over Real Salt Lake on a rainy Saturday night (Watch Here). Oluwaseyi has notched consecutive braces in MLS action, also registering a two-goal effort against Sporting Kansas City on March 15.
With his scores, the 24-year-old Canadian international reached 20 career goal contributions with Minnesota United, accomplishing the feat in only 1,428 minutes of action. Oluwaseyi reached the mark in the fewest minutes in club history, surpassing the previous mark of 1,851 minutes set by Darwin Quintero.
Minnesota (11 points, 3-1-2) currently sits in fourth place in the Western Conference through Matchday 6 and will look to continue their climb up the table as they travel to Yankee Stadium next Sunday to face New York City FC (3 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+).

Colorado’s Strong Defensive Start
Behind a pair of goals from Djordje Mihailovic (Watch Here) and the third clean sheet of the season for goalkeeper Zack Steffen, the Colorado Rapids knocked off Charlotte FC, 2-0, at DICK’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday for their third win in four matches. The Rapids (11 points, 3-1-2) currently sit in fifth place in the Western Conference.
A standout among the Rapids strong start to the season is the stellar play of their goalkeepers, who have kept four clean sheets in their first six games of the season. The four shutouts are tied for the most in club history through six matches, equaling the 2015 squad that allowed the sixth-fewest goals in the league that season.
Steffen continues to be a premiere shot-stopper and added three saves to his season total on Saturday. The USMNT ‘keeper is tied for second in MLS with 27 saves this season and he is only player to have recorded at least 20 saves and allowed fewer than four goals this season. Steffen’s 27 saves are the third-most by a player in his first five games in Rapids history, trailing only Scott Garlick (36 saves, 2001) and Adin Brown (33 saves, 2000). Garlick joined the team midseason in 2001 after opening the year with the Tampa Bay Mutiny.
The Rapids head to Vancouver on Matchday 7, as they look to keep a strong Whitecaps offense in check at BC Place (9:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+).
