– The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found the Portland Timbers in violation of the mass confrontation policy following their match against the New England Revolution on Sept. 25. Portland has violated the mass confrontation policy for a third time this season. The organization has been issued an undisclosed fine and head coach Giovanni Savarese has been fined $2,000 (

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued an undisclosed fine to San Jose Earthquakes forward Cristian Espinoza for violent conduct in the 34th minute of San Jose’s match against Atlanta United on Sept. 21 (

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has also issued an additional undisclosed fine to Espinoza for failure to leave the field in a timely manner after receiving his red card in the 34th minute against Atlanta United on Sept. 21 (

MLS fines Portland Timbers Owner Merritt Paulson for Conduct Directed at Referees


Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber announced today that Portland Timbers Owner Merritt Paulson has been fined $100,000 for misconduct directed at match officials on the field following the Timbers’ match against the New England Revolution on Sept. 25.
