In MLS we take care of our own.
RSL fans, players, coaches, broadcasters, other supporters around the league and even Landon Donovan came together this weekend to help Real Salt Lake supporter Ryan Terry, who is battling medical issues which required him to spend a week in a local hospital ICU.
It only took a few hours before a GoFundMe campaign set up to help with his medical expenses blew by its initial target as the MLS family keeps the donations rolling.
And there's good news: Terry is out of the ICU.
"He's through the first massive stage," MLS broadcaster and former player Brian Dunseth told KSL.com about Terry's status after visiting him in the hospital. "It's still a long ways to go, and getting out of ICU is a big one. He's still looking at significant time in the hospital."
The GoFundMe campaign is still accepting donations here.
