MLS 2020 Preseason: Minnesota United and Revolution stars all come to play in 2-2 draw

Kevin Molino and Brandon Bye - February 16, 2020

The stars came out to play in the opening match of the Timbers Preseason Tournament between the New England Revolution and Minnesota United.

The 2-2 draw saw forward Luis Amarilla, who predicted a 25-goal haul for himself in 2020, net twice for the Loons. Designated players Adam Buksa and Gustavo Bou, who wore the captain's armband, hit the back of the net for the Revs and both were equalizers. For Buksa, it was his first goal in a Revs uniform.

The tournament resumes on Wednesday with a second matchday when the Revs face the Vancouver Whitecaps to start the doubleheader at Providence Park (8 pm ET). Portland and Minnesota close out the night at 10:30 pm ET.
