Miami United 0, Orlando City SC 3 | 2018 US Open Cup Recap

Orlando City clinically snuffed out one of the 2018 U.S. Open Cup’s aspiring Cinderella stories on Wednesday night, traveling south to Hialeah, Florida to dispatch NPSL side Miami United 3-0 in their Fourth Round clash at the atmospheric Ted Hendricks Stadium.

Carving open the semipro side with fluid passing moves as well as opportunistic exploitations of their errors, the Lions made minimum fuss of the potential banana peel, with Sacha Kljestan bagging assists on all three of their goals.

Stefano Pinho opened the scoring shortly before halftime, and Dillon Powers doubled the advantage with a firm finish before Victor “PC” Giro slammed home after a Miami giveaway deep in their own end. The home side knocked off favored opponents Jacksonville Armada and Miami FC to reach this point, yet there would be no further upsets.
