SECAUCUS, N.J. - MetroStars President and General Manager Nick Sakiewicz announced a number of promotions today within the MetroStars Front Office. The promotions were highlighted by Chris Canetti being promoted to Assistant General Manager and Mark Washo being elevated to Senior Vice President.

"I am delighted to announce the promotion of a number of our staff members, on behalf of the MetroStars," said MetroStars President and General Manager Nick Sakiewicz. "I am extremely proud of the MetroStars Front Office, and it's a great day when we get to reward people's hard work and dedication to the club with internal promotions. These moves not only position our Front Office to be successful now, but are also being made to ensure our success in the new stadium."

2005 is Canetti's sixth season with the MetroStars. Washo began his fifth season with the MetroStars this year, after joining the team at the beginning of 2001. Prior to that he spent the previous five years with D.C. United, most recently as the team's Senior Director of Ticket Sales. In 2003, under Mark's leadership, the MetroStars Ticket Sales Team was recognized by Major League Soccer as the Ticket Sales Team of the Year, an award he helped the D.C. United Ticket Sales Team win in both 1999 and 2000. Mark has led the current sales team to three consecutive seasons of ticket sales growth, including exceeding budgets the past two seasons.
