Malmo FF's Enoch Kofi Adu reportedly a target of the Chicago Fire

Enoch Kofi Adu - Malmo -

On the same day that Harry Shipp was traded to the Montreal Impact, news emerges from Europe of a new potential midfield target for the Chicago Fire.

According to GhanaSoccernet.com, word in Sweden is that the Fire have "tabled a bid" to sign Malmo's Ghanaian midfielder Enoch Kofi Adu. The player's agent is cited as the source in the report.

The 25-year-old started his pro career in his native Ghana before heading to Europe, where he has played in France (Nice), Denmark (FC Nordsjaellan), Belgium (Club Brugge) and Norway (Stabaek) before ultimately becoming a regular for Malmo and helping them retain their Swedish title and qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Adu overlapped with former Chicago Fire head coach Bob Bradley, during the latter's time at the helm of Stabaek. Bradley now coaches in the French second division with Le Havre.

With Shipp's departure, the Fire have seven roster spots still available to fill ahead of the start of the 2016 season.
