Week 8 was a busy one in terms of goals, but fans voted for D.C. United midfielder Luciano Acosta, who scored his first goal of the season and earns AT&T MLS Goal of the Week honors.
In the 86th minute, D.C. United midfielder collected a long pass from Alvaro Saborio, cut around a defender, and launched an arching shot that scrapped the underside of the cross bar and into the goal.
Acosta beat out a one-time strike from Sebastian Giovinco in the final round of voting. Also nominated and voted through the first round was the Colorado Rapids' Kevin Doyle and Real Salt Lake's Juan Manuel Martinez.
