LAFC 1, New England Revolution 1 | 2018 MLS Match Recap

The New England Revolution could not continue their winning ways on the road, but they did pick up a solid result far away from home on Saturday, as a late goal gave them a 1-1 draw against LAFC at Banc of California Stadium.

The Revolution, coming off a surprise win at Yankee Stadium last week against NYCFC, showed defensive steel again away from home and took one of their chances to get a result in their debut meeting against Bob Bradley's outfit.

After a first half in which neither side found much traction in attack, LAFC opened the scoring shortly after the restart, with some desperation defending from New England holding the home side off on successive chances, before Marco Ureña notched his long-awaited first goal in league play for the black-and-gold with a one-timer.

The Revolution were patient, and found the equalizer in the final 10 minutes of regulation, as Teal Bunbury's cross was smashed in emphatically with a header from Brandon Bye, the rookie's first career MLS goal.

Three Things 

THE BIG PICTURE: Both teams will have wanted a win, of course, but the draw puts New England level on points with D.C. United, still within touching range of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, although time is running short. LAFC will be disappointed they couldn't hold onto a lead late yet again this season, a persistent issue for them.

MOMENT OF THE MATCH
: Bye's header was the pivotal play, and was the second consecutive game where a debutant scorer tallied for the Revolution.

MAN OF THE MATCH: The Revolution likely would have won if not for the play of LAFC goalkeeper Tyler Miller, who had a whopping seven saves on the night.
