LA Galaxy's Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be suspended for LA derby incident

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be suspended for an incident with Mohamed El-Munir in the LA Galaxy's 3-2 win over LAFC in Week 20, though he did receive a formal warning.

El-Munir suffered a facial fracture, which he is undergoing surgery for this week.

Ibrahimovic leaped for an aerial duel, his arm making firm contact with El-Munir's head in the process. The incident was not unanimously voted by the MLS Disciplinary Committee to be deserving of a red card, which would have resulted in suspension of, at minimum, two games. It's league policy that the DisCo cannot issue a one-game suspension.

A foul was called on the field by referee Jair Marrufo, though Ibrahimovic did not receive a yellow card. He will be available for selection in Week 21 on Saturday as the Galaxy face the Portland Timbers (10:30 pm ET | FS1 — Full TV & streaming info).

Earlier this season, Ibrahimovic was suspended two games for an incident involving NYCFC goalkeeper Sean Johnson as well as fined for simulation/embellishment against Columbus Crew SC
