Landon Donovan's searing month for the LA Galaxy -- three goals, six assists -- earned the soon-to-hang-'em-up star the Etihad Airways Player of the Month award for August.
In the fan vote, LD beat out strong showings from D.C. United goalkeeper Bill Hamid and Philadelphia Union attacker Sebastien Le Toux.
It is this year's first POTM award for Donovan or for a Galaxy player. It also breaks a three-month streak by Sporting KC players.
