NEW YORK (Saturday, November 30, 2024) – The LA Galaxy advanced to their 10th MLS Cup presented by Audi in club history and will host the league’s championship match on Saturday, December 7 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, FOX, FOX Deportes, TSN, RDS) against the Eastern Conference champion New York Red Bulls.

The Galaxy defeated Seattle Sounders FC, 1-0, in the Western Conference Final and will host MLS Cup at Dignity Health Sports Park, where they went 13-0-3 during the 2024 regular season. The New York Red Bulls progressed to their first MLS Cup since 2008 by winning the Eastern Conference Final, 1-0, on the road against Orlando City SC. As the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Red Bulls continued their impressive underdog run and became the lowest-seeded team to reach MLS Cup.

The LA Galaxy earned the right to host MLS Cup presented by Audi after forward Dejan Joveljić scored in the 85th minute of play against the Sounders in the Western Conference Final (Watch Here). The goal was Joveljić’s fifth and the Galaxy’s 16th overall in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs. Only Toronto FC (17) in 2016 scored more goals in a single postseason in MLS history. Midfielder Riqui Puig added an assist on Joveljić’s game-winning goal, which marked his seventh goal contribution this postseason (four goals, three assists).

The Red Bulls, who entered the postseason as the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference, orchestrated upsets over the defending champion Columbus Crew (No. 2 seed), cross-town rival New York City FC (No. 6 seed), and Orlando City SC (No. 4 seed), becoming the second team in MLS history to win three road matches in a single postseason (1998 Chicago Fire). After an intense, yet scoreless first half, the Red Bulls struck just two minutes into the second half, as a John Tolkin free kick found the head of a streaking Andrés Reyes for the deciding goal of the match (Watch Here) and goalkeeper Carlos Coronel hung on for this third shutout this postseason.

MLS Cup presented by Audi media availabilities will begin on Tuesday, December 3, which will feature each club’s head coach and a select player participating in virtual press conferences hosted by MLS Communications. Further information about these availabilities will be shared on Monday, December 2.

To celebrate the MLS Cup presented by Audi, the match will also broadcast live in Times Square in the heart of New York City on December 7 at 4 p.m. ET on screens displayed on SILVERCAST Media’s high-definition “Mega-Zilla,” a Times Square spectacular with a 78-foot by 330-foot monster digital TV display. The screen spans an entire city block and is located on Broadway between 45th and 46th Streets. Additionally, a giant replica of The Philip F. Anschutz Trophy, will be displayed in Times Square, providing fans with a special experience to snag photos while driving excitement for MLS Cup. The trophy is awarded to each season’s MLS Cup champion and the giant replica stands 15 ft. tall. This is the eighth year of the giant trophy activation, and it is annually placed in an iconic and noteworthy destination in a select city.
