TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
The LA Galaxy have signed 20-year-old defender Diedie Traore after the club acquired an international roster spot from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for $175,000 of Allocation Money ($100,000 in General Allocation Money & $75,000 in Targeted Allocation Money), the clubs announced Wednesday.
Traore earned a professional contract last season after excelling in an LA Galaxy II open tryout. The French defender made 13 appearances and had five assists with Los Dos last season.
“Diedie joined the LA Galaxy organization after being identified at an LA Galaxy II Open Tryout," Galaxy GM Dennis te Kloese said in a club statement "He progressed quickly through the LA Galaxy Academy and Galaxy II, demonstrating his quality and commitment. “We have enjoyed witnessing Diedie’s development within our club and look forward to helping him further grow his talent.”
Traore and the Galaxy face FC Dallas on Saturday (3:30 pm ET | Univision in the US; MLS LIVE on DAZN in Canada).
