TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Re-signed
The LA Galaxy have re-signed midfielder Chris Pontius, the club announced Wednesday.
Pontius, 31, had 5 goals and 6 assists in 26 appearances (15 starts) in his first season with the Galaxy. He had spent the first nine years of his career with D.C. United then the Philadelphia Union, having made a total of 241 appearances in the league with 50 career goals.
“We are pleased to re-sign Chris and bring him back to our club,” LA Galaxy general manager Dennis te Kloese said in a media release. “Chris showed his value and versatility last year and was an important member of our squad. He is an asset on and off the field and we look forward to his continued contributions to our club.”
