The LA Galaxy announced on Thursday that defender James Riley has undergone a successful left lateral meniscus repair and is expected miss at least six months as he recovers.
Riley, a 10-year MLS veteran, signed with the Galaxy prior to the start of the 2014 MLS season and started all four of LA's competitive games prior to the injury. He suffered the knock in the 33rd minute of the Galaxy’s 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium last Saturday afternoon and was immediately substituted.
