It didn't take long for an LA Galaxy striker to make an imprint on the 2018 U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round, and while Bradford Jamieson IV's curling, far-post strike stood as the winner in a 1-0 victory over the FC Golden State Force, it wasn't even the most impressive scoring feat on the day. In the 37th minute, Julian Buescher chipped a cross that Ariel Lassiter measured up for a scissor-kick volley that the tournament field will spend these remaining rounds attempting to top. Lassiter completed a brace late off a feed from Ema Boateng.
The early lead stood, though Golden State pulled one back in the 48th minute, when Enrique Cardenas's textbook hold-up play led to a pivot and third-line pass to Pedro Fonseca for a clean shot past Galaxy 'keeper Justin vom Steeg.
