Bad news for Brazil and Orlando City SC fans, who learned via the MLS team's Twitter account that star midfielder Kaká suffered "a muscle injury" and will miss Copa América Centenario.
His status for OCSC will likely be up in the air for some time, with Orlando City currently on an extended break due to the continental tournament – their next league game isn't until June 18, when they host the San Jose Earthquakes; the Lions visit a U.S. Open Cup opponent to be determined June 15.
Called in by Brazil on Thursday, Kaká had been performing well for OCSC, and replaced injured Bayern Munich midfielder Douglas Costa after being left off the initial version of the Seleçao 23-man roster. He was excited to join the competition squad for a tournament in which he had yet to appear, but will not be making his Copa debut.
