Julian de Guzman is now available to play for the Reds after the completion of all paperwork following his move to the team late last week. Coach Chris Cummins is impressed with the fitness of the new signing despite the midfielder having been without a club for the last couple of months. "Julian has trained again today. He hasn't done a lot for the last few weeks but he is naturally a very fit lad. Whether he will be able to play 90 minutes straight away is something we will have to find out, but if he feels good and ready to go then I am sure he will be straight into the team."

The Canadian midfielder joins Toronto FC after playing with Deportivo La Coruña in the Spanish top flight since 2005. While at Depor, de Guzman was named the 2007-08 Player of the Season.

Toronto born de Guzman has also won 40 international caps for Canada. In the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup he was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, after playing an integral role in Canada's third place finish in the continental championship.
